Helder de carvalho was born in Carrazeda de Ansiães in 1954. He lives and works in Porto. Graduated in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts – Porto, where, among others, was a student of Alberto Carneiro, Zulmiro de Carvalho, Fernando Pernes, Flávio Gonçalves, Álvaro Lapa and Jorge Pinheiro. Connected to artistic education, as a High School teacher and College professor, had also developed work as a visual artist by investigating means of expressive language, mainly on the tridimensionality scope. Concluded the master’s degree in “Art Craft and Design Education” at the University of Roehampton – London, in 2006. Currently exclusively dedicated to the practice of fine arts with preference for sculpture and for crafts in which modeling constitutes the most used expressive technique. Represented in distinguished public and private institutions and referenced in specialty journals and dictionaries.
